i-Force1

i-Force1 has been created by COMP Rzeszów S.A. and is dedicated for the servicing of investment activity. i-Force1 is designed for bank Treasury Departments as well as insurance companies, investment funds and for all institutions that undertake financial investments. The first implementation of i-Force1 was completed in March 2001, in the Irish insurance company Interpolis, a subsidiary of Rabobank International. i-Force1 is also one of the few Polish software products that is exported. The system is proof that Polish companies are able to create solutions and compete successfully on the Western European market. 

i-Force1 is the successor of the Portfolio system, developed and implemented by COMP Rzeszów S.A. in Polish banks, between 1995-2000. The knowledge gained during the realisation of these projects, together with the co-operation of the consultancy firm Olov Consulting Ltd. and the Oracle technology used have enabled us to create a product, that is able to match the requirements of banks and financial institutions in the field of servicing investment portfolios. 

Functionality
The main functional fields of i-Force1 are as follows, 

• Deposits placed and taken 

• FX, SWAP, FORWARD operations 

• Repo and reverse repo operations 

• Nostro transfers in foreign currencies 

• Security (treasury bills, shares, treasury bonds) 

• FRA, IRS operations 

• Securities issue (customer and banks securities) 

Salient Features
The main features of the system are described below and are considered the most important from the end users point of view. Because of them, i-Force1 is a unique solution on the Polish market and fulfils all the requirements raised by Back Office departments and investment institutions. 

• The system manages any quantity of the banks and customer' s investment portfolios

• Service of each transaction in the system is carried out to a prescribed format

• In addition to statements of individual portfolios, the system keeps track of the nostro and depository account balances

• Each registered transaction in the system must be verified by a second operator

• The system allows the reading of the chart of account from the General Ledger and definition of any accounting schemes

• The securities table includes the following information

• Securities code (according to ISIN, Bloomberg, Reuters)

• Name

• Security type (treasury notes, bonds, shares, treasury bills, certificates etc.)

• Face value

• Date of issue

• Redemption date

• Details allowing interest accrual on any date

• Interest payment dates

• Market prices (can be read in from other sources)

• Information about splits, consolidations, cash dividends and/or stock dividends
  
  

• The system generates the necessary reports and printouts, showing portfolio value, portfolio contents, nostro accounts balances

• The system is multi currency - generates balance reports for each currency

• One of the three-portfolio revaluation method can be chosen

• The system automatically generates SWIFT massages

• Security/currency sales results are automatically calculated in the system according to the chosen method (FIFO, HIFO, or by Deal Matching) the system has automatic interface to any accounting system

 A very important feature of i-Force1 is its multi linguistic nature enabling the user to work in Polish, English or Dutch.

Technical Details
The i-Force1 system is based on an Oracle database and functions under various operating systems (mostly UNIX, Windows NT/2000). Because of this the system is easy to expand and can easily be adapted to the existing bank environment.
